Why the sudden jump to Java 21 for version 10.0.0 #66

Hey,
We are wondering what the reason is for the sudden jump to Java 21 for version 10.0.0.
Before the jar were compiled and build for Java 7 and your readMe also says it supports it:
This sudden jump was unexpected and mean we no longer can use beyond version 9.1.0 for a while.
It would also be nice if this was mentioned in the release notes!
Could you please clarify why this is done?
