Handling of Dual Rounds

Hi WCA Live team, with the recent WCA Regulation changes, dual rounds are now allowed and are considered two separate rounds, with ranking and advancement based on the best average between the two rounds. Could you please clarify how this is intended to be handled in WCA Live and whether this behavior is already supported or has any known limitations? This would be very helpful for organizers and delegates preparing competitions under the updated regulations

Hi @jfgomez0912, software support for dual rounds is not currently available, but is anticipated at the end of February 2026. We'll announce more details closer to the time. If you're a delegate, see the email "WCA Regulations - January 2026" for the communication regarding this:

Dual Rounds: This format requires software changes to multiple systems to implement. The WCA Software Team is supporting these changes, however they will not be in place on January 1st. As such, you must not attempt to use Dual Rounds at your competition until confirmation is provided that software support is in place. We currently anticipate that software changes will be ready by the end of February 2026. Once software support is available, you are permitted to change the format of already-announced competitions to include Dual Rounds if desired.
