Question: compare arbitrary commit to working tree

Hello,

I can compare two arbitrary selected commits with each other.
I can not find a way to compare an arbitrary commit with the working tree. Is that correct?

I can mark one commit for diff and select another commit for comparison and that shows the diff between them, which is nice, but selecting the working tree as the second commit just shows the current changes of the working compared to HEAD.

Can someone please confirm this?

I agree that what you notice is inconsistent behaviour. The "mark for diff" functionality switches from displaying a commit's patch (equivalent to git show <sha>) to displaying diffs between snapshots (equivalent to git diff <sha-marked> <sha-current>). Comparing with the working directory should do the equivalent of git diff <sha-marked>, which would indeed show a difference between the "marked" commit and whatever is the content of the working tree. Currently it does not. I'm not sure if there would be utility in doing it, but since the CLI git does it, qgit should do it too.

So, I would say, you noticed a missing functionality indeed.
