Wanted to test this in my pursue of the fastest possible way to searh my .gz log files,i thought the problem was because of - or something in the filename, but renaming it to something shorter makes it work.
2019-01-1.conn.1.log.gz doesnt work.
test.1.log.gz or test-1.log.gz works
