It would be ideal to avoid leaving publications as an after-thought.

I think a JOSS submission is feasible once #11 and #10 close. Obviously, it would be ideal to deal with #7 before that too but, the contents of a JOSS publication are too general to require this.

For JOSS submission a paper.md and a paper.bib file needs to be pushed to the repository.
