Is there a way to just add everything into the playlist?

I'm a bit used to my music player to just scanning everything then shuffling my music, I find it kind of tedious to just keep shift + L everything. If I try to add the main folder it just says unsupported. Nothing in the controls seems to indicate there is a way to do this.

I have an idea. You could modify playlist.log(in ~/.config/termusic) by text editor. Add 0 on the top. This way you could include anything.

I checked the log and there was already a 0 on top.

edit: also not sure if it helps but im on windows not linux

Is what you are asking to recursively add a directory, not just the direct contents of the one directory you currently have selected? If yes, then #103 already tracks that.

Note that keybind shift+L only loads the contents for the currently selected directory currently (only direct files, not in lower directories).

Termusic currently tries to load whatever you execute "load" on, and if it is a unrecognized or explicitly unsupported file format, it will throw that error. (for example you try to load a .txt file or load a directory with such a file in it).

As a workaround you could do the following command to add much stuff to the playlist, i am sure there is a equivalent for windows, but i dont know exactly what.

# Note that "realpath" is required, or a absolute path directly
$ find $(realpath .) -xdev -type f >> ~/.config/termusic/playlist.log

I read the issue and yeah it does address my issue. I guess I'll have to close this. And yeah my question was is there a way shift+L can add everything in the main folder.

Also sorry for the dumb question but what is realpath supposed to entail? Is it my music directory? My guess is the command basically adds everything into the playlist thru a command line as opposed to manually using shift L?

Yes. Though you will have to reload termusic to get the result (or likely even have to execute this while termusic is not running).

Summary from the man page:

realpath - return the canonicalized absolute pathname

This is required because by default, if no absolute path is given to find, it will output relative paths (./to/somewhere) which would not work as the playlist file we output to is unlikey in the ./ as it is in home/config.

Yes, what i wrote was for unix (linux/mac), and mentioned that there is likely a equivalent command / function available in windows, but i am not sure what it is.
