[Bug]: Tapping suggested word leaves partial word instead of replacing it in some apps

Bug Description

In Vanadium (on GrapheneOS) URL bar, issue from title happens. For example, typing exa and tapping suggested example results in exa example . It doesn't seem to happen in other apps.

Steps to Reproduce

1. open Vanadium
2. type partial word in URL bar
3. tap any suggested word predicted from this partial word
4. see that incomplete word is left behind instead of being replaced

• I have restarted the CleverKeys app
• I have tried disabling and re-enabling the keyboard
• I have checked if this happens with neural predictions disabled
• I have tried clearing the app cache/data (if safe to do so)

Can confirm same thing happens to me.

Its not a GrapheneOS or vanadium issue. Happens on other phones/roms/browsers, too. You can check it yourself on Brave or IronFox on a spare phone.

I think the dev is aware of the issue. Its been discussed a few months back. (can't find out which issue, but I saw it)

Frankly, that's the only major gripe I have remaining with this keyboard.

I still use it as my daily driver!

I can reproduce a related issue on multiple devices.

Devices tested:
