Chart doesn't update

I want my chart to be refreshed when the model is changed. For instance, I'd like my datasets' labels to be dynamically defined by user input.
Here's a zip file containing an example project (from @mharmer 's other issue): ElmLabelTest.zip

I can get the doughnut to show, typing something in the input element does change the model (as it shows in the h2 I've added for hat purpose), but the chart's label doesn't change from its original value:

Am I missing something in my project?
