I'm aware that the master branch is not a release branch but I'll report my observations here anyway just in case it is something that got overlooked.
I tested it on Moodle 4.4 and noticed that when I don't answer a question and press the "submit answer" button anyway, the attempt immediately finishes and shows me the mean ability measure as my result. When I afterwards review the attempt it displays the following message as the reason for stopping the attempt:
"Error checking the response value for the last attempted question"
I think unanswered questions used to be marked as wrong.
