Dear W3C Credible Web Community,
We appreciate the essential work the group is doing to address the spread of misinformation and strengthen credibility mechanisms on the Web.
In parallel, the Meta-Layer Initiative is advancing a framework for a decentralized, AI-assisted coordination layer above Today’s Web. This emerging meta-layer introduces presence, programmable overlays, smart tags, and trust infrastructure that can serve as substrate for more accountable and contextual information ecosystems.
As a challenge from Vint Cerf, a father of the Internet, who called the meta-layer "a creative argument that warrants further discussion and exploration," we’re currently collecting input on the Desirable Properties that should characterize this meta-layer.
🌐 We would be honored to receive your feedback on these Desirable Properties, especially as you examine proposals to tackle misinformation and enhance trust. These properties are intended to support a hyper-dimensional shared context, enabling verifiable, transparent, and collectively governed augmentations to content online.
