No 'From Name' is used when emails are sent

The email arrives in the inbox with no from name, just the email address the email was sent from e.g. bill@microsoft.com or barry@garry.com - any ideas why this might be? I'm using Google Apps for Business...

Does the name show when you send the email normally?

It works fine... the from name is shown as expected...
