limit time period for saving consens

We need an option to limit the time period for cookie banner consent.

A GDPR agency informed our client that it is necessary for consent to be stored for a maximum of 6 months, preferably only 3 months. Since PrivacyWire saves the consent in LocalStorage, it is unlimited saved.

Personal I don't need a UI option in the backend, I'm open for workarounds.

thanks for the input.
I added a config option (by default unlimited to not introduce breaking changes) to choose between unlimited, 1, 3, 6 and 12 month(s).
It still uses localStorage but will delete existing outdated consent on re-visit of the page. Let me know if this is sufficient or your customer really do need cookies instead of localStorage.

I tested and talked with the GDPR agency. First they test tool shows (still) an unlimited time period on it, because it is in the local storage, but after explaining, that there is now a timestamp and the server will check that, their didn't complain it anymore.

So that way seems total fine. Thank you again for that fast solution.

Thanks for the feedback. Then we'll keep it that way as a refactoring to use cookies instead of LocalStorage would be way heavier …
