Input to the #6338 cutover sign-off, from the #6464 field-level comparison. Not a defect to fix in the pipeline; recorded so sign-off can accept or challenge it with the evidence attached.
The difference
At the transformer level, 8,424 migrated archive works change access status from Closed to Restricted: Axiell's status vocabulary has no CLOSED value, the transformer derives Closed only from a future closed_until date (documented as ~98% faithful to CALM behaviour), and formerly-Closed material otherwise carries Restricted.
Checked at the works-indexed surface (2026-08-04), most of that never reaches the public catalogue: the merger composes each work's items, and the item-level access data usually comes from the Sierra side, which is identical in both pipelines. Of the 8,424:
- 8,179 show no difference at the surface (most commonly both sides display the Sierra item's status, for example "Temporarily unavailable").
- 137 surface the Closed to Restricted change on their displayed items. Verified example:
a4ezb57t production shows Closed, preview shows Restricted; also a29syd96.
- 102 differ at the surface in some other way (mixed item sets).
Separately, 23 works flip Closed to Open at the transformer level; that list is with collections-information for correctness review. The same surface caveat applies: the displayed subset will be smaller.
The full lists are regenerable from the #6464 comparison artefacts (access status transitions at data.items[].locations[].accessConditions[].status.type, checked against display.items in works-indexed).
