While in theory we currently have support for custom units for ingredients (so instead of "80g of banana" we could do "1 medium banana" etc.), in practice we don't have data for these for 99.9% of the products.
Besides a general solution for that, we should think about adding something like "global units" (like oz) and convert those when the user isn't using metric units. We'd have to brainstorm a bit on how we would do this.
