Last updated: October 23rd, 2025
Status: Closed (Issue persists in later firmware versions)
π§ Summary
Bluetooth pairing works only for one Knob1 connection.
Subsequent connections (e.g., #2 and #3) fail to connect on macOS and iOS/iPadOS 26, showing a Timeout error.
π Describe the issue
When trying to connect a Knob1 device via Bluetooth on macOS 26 and iOS/iPadOS 26, the pairing succeeds for one device, but the others cannot be used wirelessly.
This issue persists across several builds and firmware versions, including the preinstalled release shipped with the unit.
π‘ Expected behavior
Each device should remain connected and functional after pairing, regardless of the platform (Mac, iPad, or iPhone).
π§ͺ Steps to reproduce
- Open Bluetooth settings on macOS 26.
- Pair Knob1
#1 with MacBook Pro β connection created successfully.
- Try to pair Knob1
#2 with iPad β connection fails (Timeout error).
- Try to pair Knob1
#3 with iPhone β connection fails (Timeout error).
- Reattempt pairing after reboot or sleep β same failure observed.
π§° Environment
- macOS: 26.0
- iPadOS: 26.0
- iOS: 26.0
- Devices: Knob1 (
#1, #2, #3)
- Firmware: factory release (0.3.0-rc.2 β updated to 0.11.0-rc.6)
- Hardware tested: MacBook Pro M3, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Pro M4 (see attached image)
πΈ Attachments
- Photo of iPad Pro showing pairing failure (Timeout error)
- Screenshot of macOS Bluetooth settings showing one active connection only
π§Ύ Notes
- The issue occurs consistently even after restarts and resets.
- Updating to beta firmware (0.11.0-rc.6) partially mitigates but does not solve it.
- Tested multiple times on different Apple devices.
- Problem persists as of October 23rd, 2025.
𧱠Severity
High β affects core Bluetooth functionality and prevents normal multi-device use.
π§· Additional context
Issue opened upon receiving the product on October 11th, 2025.
Original firmware already showed Bluetooth instability.
Even after updates, pairing remains unreliable across devices.
