It seems more intuitive to add on tags onto flashcards cumulatively than clearing all tags once a new one is added, since there could be many existing tags that would disappear unless the user retypes all the tags.
Perhaps your team can consider implementing tag as cumulative instead of clearing all previous tags to improve usability! :)
