This is good and useful, but the failures you are seeing:

ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 19: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'IF NOT EXISTS 'policy'@'localhost'' at line 1

Indicates that you're running MariaDB 10.0. Boulder now depends on MariaDB 10.1 and uses the new-style "IF NOT EXISTS" syntax for creating users.

It's a little tricky to get MariaDB 10.1 installed on Travis. In certbot and boulder we have started using Docker to run Boulder along with the right versions of RabbitMQ and MariaDB.

This is now obsolete; our travis setup now installs boulder using the same docker infrastructure as the boulder travis setup does. Closing.
