Why a quiet, local validation coach is worth it — what changes when you make verification a visible habit.
It's fair to ask: I already write the code and (sometimes) test it — what does a tracker add? The answer is the difference between intending to verify and knowing that you do.
AI now writes a large and growing share of our code — by widely-cited industry estimates already around 40% of committed code, and rising. We've gotten very good at measuring how much it writes. We've gone quiet about whether anyone checked it.
96% of developers don't fully trust AI-generated code — yet only 48% always verify it before committing.
— Sonar, State of Code 2026
That gap has a name now — verification debt, a term AWS's Werner Vogels uses for the growing pile of unchecked AI code — and it compounds silently. The industry's answer is to automate the review: machines checking machine code. Agent Karma's answer is the opposite — keep you in the loop, and make the one habit that closes the gap visible instead of leaving it to good intentions.
- The question gets asked, every time. A session ends with one honest verdict — did you verify before you trusted it? — so the check stops being something you'll "get to."
- Your blind spots surface. The dashboard shows the kinds of work you skip ("I never run lint on a migration"), so you fix the pattern, not just today's change.
- Risk and effort line up. The Dharma → Phal arc means a high-risk change with no validation is flagged before it ships — and a validated one earns a quiet, deserved nod.
- You build a streak worth keeping. Light, calm gamification (a rank, a streak, a card) rewards consistency — never volume, never a race against teammates.
| If you're a… | Agent Karma gives you… |
|---|---|
| Developer | A faster path to "this is safe to ship," and a credential that proves you held the line |
| Tech lead | A shared vocabulary for verification — without surveilling anyone's code |
| Learner | A way to build the habit — practice in the Dojo, then carry it into real work |
Everything that makes it valuable is also what makes it trustworthy:
- It measures your habit, not your code — only metadata, never content.
- It's for you, not your manager — the mirror, not the dashboard.
- It's 100% local — no account, no telemetry, no network call, ever.
- It works with any AI tool — Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, even browser and copy-paste.
You're the last line of trust between AI-written code and production. Agent Karma is the quiet proof — to yourself and to anyone you share it with — that you're actually holding it.
