Re-lands #179 on main. It was squash-merged into trunk as 4fa3c8d, but the trunk policy was reverted (#184) and trunk deleted before promotion, so the commit never reached main (compare main...4fa3c8d = diverged, ahead 1 behind 3). This is a clean cherry-pick of 4fa3c8d onto ecf06ab. It touches the same 7 files, with no conflicts and no changes.

All review threads on #179 were addressed there. Bots and CI review this head afresh.

What it does

  • flows.0 (software-factory, "Software Garden") → AgentWorkforce/agentrelay.com@e3f5442 web/public/flows/software-garden/v1.flow.ts, release software-garden-v1, sha256 b89a36e2cf9054036a7fc53fba20011a42ef0275ffbaaa907b080738ab46ad27. Today main still serves flows examples/software-factory v2.0.42 (14 KB).
  • catalogVersion 4 → 5. Cloud's upgradeRecommendedFlowActivation refuses a new source identity at the same catalog version, so existing v4 activations need v5 to upgrade.
  • The verifier anchors generated sources to the manifest (no git tag). The contract matches the generated code, including the zero-match closing-reference branch. Tests cover the pinned bytes and the catalogVersion↔source history. Docs updated.

Verified on this head (5ce4293)

  • Live published bytes: curl https://agentrelay.com/flows/software-garden/v1.flow.ts | sha256sum = b89a36e2…, 64,355 B. This equals the catalog pin and the raw file at e3f5442.
  • npm run verify:recommended-flows: software-factory: verified software-garden-v1 (e3f5442…) sha256:b89a36e2….
  • verify:setup-skills ok. Web 45 files / 528 tests and router 9 / 133 pass. tsc web and router ok.

Cloud's matching recovery change is AgentWorkforce/cloud#4308, which follows once this is live.

Closes #174.

Note

Medium Risk
Changes the canonical deployed flow bytes and catalog version for a production recommended flow; mis-pinned digest or version could block deploys or confuse upgrades, though CI verifies pins and fetches.

Overview
Software Garden in the recommended flow catalog now pins the generated /flows output on this repo (web/public/flows/software-garden/v1.flow.ts, release software-garden-v1) instead of the old AgentWorkforce/flows example at v2.0.42. catalogVersion and the software-factory entry version bump to 5 so Cloud can treat this as a new source identity for activation upgrades.

Verification and tests follow the new model: manifest-backed digest checks for agentrelay.com sources (no semver git tag), updated source-contract snippets for ticket-derived PR titles and exact GitHub closing references, and tests that the catalog pin matches published bytes and that source changes always advance catalogVersion. Docs describe the published-version source, catalog bump semantics, and the pending Cloud recovery copy alignment (cloud#4308).

Summary by cubic

Serves the generated Software Garden flow from the catalog instead of the separately-authored example.

The software-factory entry now points at the published generator output (agentrelay.com web/public/flows/software-garden/v1.flow.ts, SHA-256 pinned, release software-garden-v1) rather than the old flows repo example at v2.0.42. catalogVersion moves 4 → 5 because Cloud refuses to move an existing activation onto a different source at the same catalog version, so v4 activations need v5 to upgrade.

Changes

  • Verifier treats agentrelay.com sources as generated: no release tag, manifest-based digest check instead of git ls-remote.
  • Contract assertion updated to match the generated code, including the zero-match closing-reference branch.
  • New tests pin the published bytes and require catalogVersion to advance whenever the source changes.
  • Docs updated to describe the published-version source model and Cloud's recovery copy, which stays on the earlier flows example until AgentWorkforce/cloud#4308 lands.

Closes #174.

Written for commit 9ee10f6. Summary will update on new commits.

…2 for #174) (#179)

* feat(flows): serve the generated Software Garden from the catalog (2/2 for #174)

Point recommended-flow catalog flows.0 (software-factory, "Software
Garden") at the published generator artifact,
e3f5442 web/public/flows/software-garden/v1.flow.ts
(sha256 b89a36e2...), instead of flows examples/software-factory v2.0.42.
Cloud's wizard, dashboard and the catalog API now serve the same bytes
/flows onboarding hands off. The entry's version moves 4 -> 5 for the
new source; catalogVersion stays 4.

- verify-recommended-flow-catalog: a generated agentrelay.com source has
no release tag; its release names a manifest version
(software-garden-v<N>) whose recorded and local digests must equal the
pin, and the raw fetch at the pinned commit is still hashed.
- recommended-flow-contract: the title / exact closing-reference guard
now checks the generated code that implements it.
- Tests: the artifact satisfies the contract, and the catalog pins a
published version by path, release and digest.

* fix(flows): advance catalogVersion to 5 for the new Software Garden source

Cloud's upgradeRecommendedFlowActivation refuses to move an activation
onto a different source identity at the catalogVersion it was deployed
from ("The catalog changed an artifact without advancing its version").
Every existing Garden activation is stamped with catalogVersion 4, so
repointing the source at 4 would strand them. Serve the generated source
at catalogVersion 5, and record each served source against its
catalogVersion in a test so a later pin move cannot skip the bump.

* fix(flows): check the pinned Garden against the full closing-reference contract

- Require the zero-match branch (missing-github-closing-reference), so a
source that accepts a PR body without its closing reference fails.
- Check the bytes the catalog pins, not only the generator's output.
- Scope the docs' same-bytes claim to catalog deploys and name Cloud's
  recovery copy (AgentWorkforce/cloud#4308).

* test(flows): let a catalog-wide bump keep the Software Garden source

A catalogVersion bump that leaves the Garden unchanged repeats its
source in the next row; only a source change without a new row is wrong.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The Software Garden catalog entry now points to a versioned, SHA-256-pinned artifact published by agentrelay.com. Documentation, tests, and catalog verification now use catalog version 5 and validate the artifact against its manifest.

Software Garden catalog source

Layer / File(s) Summary
Generated source contract
web/scripts/recommended-flow-contract.mjs, web/lib/test/software-garden-artifact.test.ts, web/content/docs/relayflows/recommended.mdx
The metadata contract checks the generated source and catalog-pinned source. The documentation describes the versioned, SHA-256-pinned source and the Claude Code-only harness.
Catalog artifact and version
web/data/recommended-flow-catalog.v1.json, web/content/docs/relayflows/recommended.mdx, web/lib/test/recommended-flow-catalog.test.ts, web/lib/test/software-garden-artifact.test.ts
The catalog and its tests use version 5 and identify the published Software Garden artifact, its reference, URLs, and digest. Additional tests compare its source metadata and digest with the manifest and catalog version.
Manifest-based catalog validation
web/content/docs/relayflows/recommended.mdx, web/scripts/verify-recommended-flow-catalog.mjs, web/scripts/verify-catalog-gates.mjs
The verifier checks the Software Garden source against its manifest entry and local artifact digest. Other sources retain remote tag validation. The catalog gate requires version 5.

While version five is here to stay.
