Replace the nonexistent
.gate() chaining API
When readers copy either advertised TypeScript workflow, every .gate() call fails because the checked-in @relayflows/surface API returns Step<T> and does not expose this chaining method; web/content/docs/relayflows/build.mdx:83-103 documents declarative output_contains/json_schema verification instead. Since these gates are the central mechanism presented by the article, rewrite the examples using supported verification, likely YAML or a dispatched declarative flow.
Useful? React with 👍 / 👎.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
Half right: Step<T> does declare .gate() (flows/packages/surface/src/step.ts), so it's not "nonexistent." But calling it today does throw unsupported_gate at runtime — the SDK's own test suite confirms it's typed but not yet lowered by the executor (flows/packages/sdk/tests/authored-flow.test.ts:143-146). Net effect you flagged (examples won't run against .gate() today) is correct, reasoning was off. Leaving this as-is for now — the gate-as-verification model is the article's core teaching device, and it's the same aspirational-vs-shipped situation as the permissions field used elsewhere in this PR.
Lead-with-use-cases landing for Relayflows: a use-case grid (software factory, PR review, support triage, content pipeline, migration bot, voicemail callback, research, compliance), a code snippet showing the scripted-pipeline shape, a soft-gate-vs-hard-gate strip, native integrations, and a paid-design-partners CTA that links to the book-a-call page. Reuses the reflex page structure and design tokens for site coherence. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01UDeYnpfKVNvep3SuokVobP

Validate the implementation artifacts before testing.
This blog example requires impl/summary.md and impl/branch.txt to contain feat/${input.ticketId}. The current gate checks only that impl/branch.txt exists. Tests can therefore run on one branch while createPullRequest targets another, and a missing summary can make PR creation fail. Validate both artifacts and the exact branch value before running tests.

Reasonable in principle, but skipping — cross-validating that branch.txt's content exactly matches the ticket ID adds real ceremony to what's meant to be an illustrative example, for an edge case (implementer writes a mismatched branch name) that's already caught downstream when the PR step's branch doesn't exist. Keeping the gate as an existence check.
There was a problem hiding this comment.
@khaliqgant, understood. The downstream pull-request step provides the branch validation in this illustrative workflow. Keeping the gate limited to artifact existence is acceptable for the intended level of detail.

Address PR review findings verified against the actual @relayflows/surface source and RFC-0001: replace the workspace path-scope strings with the permissions model (fileGlobs/accessPreset) from Gate 8, swap the nonexistent harness option for cli, and fix github.createPullRequest to take separate owner/repo and a body string instead of bodyPath. Reverts editorial rewrites (added em dashes, reworded sentences, invented section headers) back to the author's original phrasing. Keeps only the markdown structure (code fences, image placement) and the previously requested API corrections in the code samples. - Make the social-post-pipeline sample self-contained (import + SocialPostInput interface), so it's copy-pasteable like the software-factory example. - Drop the fragile stdout-regex gate on the test step; rely on Relayflows' automatic exit-status check instead (per docs and reviewer consensus). - Validate and quote the agent-written branch name before git checkout to close an argument-injection path (CWE-88) flagged by security review. Left two other CodeRabbit suggestions unaddressed: merging upstream read paths into each agent's fileGlobs isn't safely expressible today since PermissionsSpec has one accessPreset for the whole set (would grant unintended write access), and the branch/summary cross-validation adds more ceremony than the illustrative example needs. 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Make the Software factory example selectable.
The page intentionally supplies introductory code for active === 0, and that code includes a Software factory flow. However, examples[0] still contains a separate title, description, filename, and full code sample. The first button selects index 0, so those examples[0] fields never render. The page remains usable, so this is a minor functional issue.
Represent the introduction as a separate slide, then map the “Software factory” button to examples[0].
