Feature branches no longer run CI. Jobs triggered by pull_request(_target) run only when the head branch is `trunk`; push triggers are limited to main (release/env/tag pushes unchanged). trunk-guard.yml flags any PR into main that does not come from `trunk`.

Acknowledged, not a code change. A skipped required check counts as passing, so Trunk guard alone must never be the required check on main. In this repo main requires an approving review, and the merge agent only merges the trunk → main PR once its CI checks are green. If branch protection here adds required status checks, it should list the real CI jobs (which run on the trunk PR), not the guard.

The note contradicts the current push trigger. Rewrite it to describe the current policy.
The

- CI gates also require the head repo to be this repository and the base to be main (a fork branch named trunk, or trunk into another branch, no longer runs CI). - Trunk guard runs via pull_request_target (loaded from the base branch, so a PR cannot edit it to pass), re-runs on base edits, and checks head repo. - Workflows that only react to a PR closing are no longer gated.

Org-wide CI reduction: CI runs only on the
trunk→mainPR and on pushes tomain. Feature branches merge intotrunkand get no CI. Addstrunk-guard.ymlto flag PRs intomainthat don't come fromtrunk. Generated mechanically (jobif:gates + push branch filters); actionlint shows no new findings.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
Note
Medium Risk
Changes when automated validation runs for all contributions; mis-tuned gates could skip CI on the integration PR or block legitimate merges, though Trunk guard uses base-branch workflow definitions without checking out PR code.
Overview
Org-wide CI is gated behind a
trunk→mainmerge train. Feature PRs intotrunkno longer run the heavy workflow suites; full CI runs on pushes tomainand on same-repo pull requests whose head istrunkand base ismain. Jobs across test, rust, security, e2e, fleet, stress, install/build, format fixers, and related workflows now share thatif:guard (often combined with existing change-detection conditions).A new
Trunk guardworkflow (pull_request_targetonmain, no PR checkout) fails any PR intomainthat is not from this repo’strunkbranch, so direct feature→mainPRs are blocked. Push triggers are tightened in places (e.g. codegen dropsfeature/**, fleet e2e dropsfeat/fleet-**on push).AGENTS.mdgains the merge-train snippet (mergeablelabel, basetrunk, local verification expectations);prpm.lockrecords@agent-relay/merge-train-snippet@1.0.1.Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit 2be9ab6.
