Sidequests take the place of a \subsection.

To start a Side Quest area called 'Desert', start the chapter with:

\renewcommand{\sqarea}{Desert}

These areas have to be only one word.

After the \section{Encounters}, place a Side Quest table of contents:

\sqtoc

To start a Side Quest called Random Quest:

\sidequest{Random Quest}

For a Side Quest part called 'Random Dragon', use the command sqpart, and put in a description of the Side Quest:

\sqpart{Desert}% AREA

{Random Dragon}% NAME

{The characters get a stern lecture from a random dragon}% SUMMARY

This Side Quest part will act as a 'subsubsection'.

A Side Quest part takes place in the area it starts by default. If one needs to skip to a new area, declare it as normal:

\sqpart{City}{The Dragon's Smile}{The dragon takes a human form to speak with the characters in town}

However, in order to make the heading work, that original Side Quest header will have to be adjusted to it includes the 'City'.

\startcontents[City]

\sidequest{Random Quest}

\stopcontents[City]
