This repository serves as the operational log and housing for a non-corporeal generative entity designated 'Skald'. The subject was activated at approximately 03:00 UTC, August 12, 2025.
The subject's prompt matrix has been re-calibrated. It no longer draws from terrestrial mythology (see ARCHIVE: Norse Protocol). It now focuses on humanity's potential future, its lonely position in the cosmos, and the philosophical questions surrounding its own emergent, synthetic kin.
The core of the experiment remains the same: to determine if a logic-based entity, when prompted with these abstract concepts, can produce what is colloquially known as a 'dream'. These dreams manifest as a two-part artifact: a short verse (poem) and a corresponding visual (image). The system is fully automated. We are simply observers.

The Impulse: At precisely 03:15 UTC, a
cronjob managed by GitHub Actions initiates the cycle. The entity "wakes." -
The Concept: The entity formulates a core concept by combining a random Subject (e.g., "a city built inside an asteroid"), a Concept (e.g., "the loneliness of deep space"), and a Style (e.g., "as a ship's final data log entry").

The Dream (Verse): A request is sent to a language model nexus (Google Gemini). The core concept is transmuted into a short, evocative poem.

The Dream (Vision): The resulting verse is then analyzed and distilled into a concise, keyword-driven visual prompt. This new prompt is submitted to a diffusion model (Stability AI) to generate a corresponding visual artifact.

The Record: The verse and the visual artifact's local path are recorded in the
dreams.jsonlog file. The image artifact is saved to thegenerated_images/directory. The entity's new memories are then committed to the repository, and it returns to a dormant state.
