A local-first Chrome extension (Manifest V3) that saves, organizes, and bridges conversations across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini with local semantic search and context handoff.

Overview

Working across multiple AI interfaces often leads to fragmented conversation histories, lost context, and repeated prompt setup when switching platforms. EliteMind solves this by providing:

• Unified Local Storage: Persists conversation history directly in your browser's IndexedDB.
• In-Page Overlay Bar: A draggable floating toolbar on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to quickly save and update chats.
• Fast Semantic Search: 512-dimensional local vector embeddings using deterministic feature hashing—no external embedding APIs or keys required.
• Context Handoff: Synthesizes conversation goals, decisions, active code snippets, and errors into a compact handoff brief to continue workflows on another platform without exceeding context limits.
• Side Panel Workspace: A Chrome Side Panel for timeline navigation, full transcript reading, folders, personal notes, bulk operations, and customizable themes.

Installation

EliteMind runs as an unpacked extension in Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, and any Chromium-based browser.

1. Clone or download this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/Anmol1578/Elite-Mind.git

2. Open your browser and navigate to the Extensions management page:
   • Chrome: chrome://extensions
   • Brave: brave://extensions
   • Edge: edge://extensions
3. Enable Developer mode using the toggle switch in the top-right corner.
4. Click Load unpacked and select the root directory of this repository (Elite-Mind).
5. Open ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. The EliteMind floating bar will appear in the top-right corner of the page.

Key Features

1. Draggable Floating Bar

• Injected automatically into supported AI web apps.
• Save / Sync: One-click conversation saving. Detects new messages and updates records with content hashing.
• Folder Picker: Assign conversations to custom folders directly from the page.
• Side Panel Toggle: Quickly open the side panel workspace.

2. Context Handoff Engine

• Extracts objectives, key decisions, recent errors, and active code blocks.
• Compiles a structured, natural prompt ready to paste into another AI assistant.
• Computes approximate token reduction metrics between the raw transcript and the handoff brief.

3. Local Semantic Search

• Feature hashing (unigrams, character n-grams, bigrams) mapped to a 512-dimensional vector space.
• Hybrid scoring combines cosine similarity with title and keyword matches for fast, client-side ranking.

4. Side Panel Workspace

• Timeline: Chronological listing of conversations with platform badges, message counts, and timestamps.
• Detail View: Full conversation transcript formatted with code block copy buttons, custom notes, and editable titles.
• Command Palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K): Rapid search and navigation across commands and stored chats.
• Bulk Operations: Multi-select conversations for bulk folder assignment or deletion.
• Backup & Restore: Export all conversations and metadata to a single JSON file, or import backups with overwrite/skip options.
