Thanks! It'll take a while to evaluate that, I need to check the effects on the build system. We use quite old Ubuntu images for most of the work and supply PPA builds to even older versions. No reason this could not change, of course, and there always is the option of maintaining a separate debian folder for older systems. |

If the changes I wanted in (dh-cruft) are too recent I would still like to see a scalled down PR with the 100% harmless changes merged in to reduce the delta untill next time two years later down the road ;-) (next Ubuntu LTS ?) dh-cruft appeared in 24.04 https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=noble&searchon=names&keywords=dh-cruft |

This syncs up with what we now have in Debian but keeps your specific SDL2 dependencies.
