Maya AI Studio 2.5
Maya AI Studio 2.5
Maya 2.5 introduces three distinct creation modes as first-class workflows:
- Video Mode for polished product demos, social videos, transparent overlays, and device mockup exports.
- Carousel Mode for product-image carousels, still sets, narrated slide videos, and handoff bundles.
- Narrated Images Mode for vertical narrated image videos with per-image scripts, local AI voiceover, voice-aligned burned-in captions, draggable caption placement, system font selection, and MP4 export.
Highlights
- Added the standalone Narrated Images studio mode.
- Added local voice-aligned caption generation using a WhisperX-style alignment workflow with estimated-caption fallback.
- Added persistent local Python workers and generated narration caching to speed up repeated content creation.
- Added a Generate All Scenes queue for narrated image projects.
- Improved image decoding/export performance and throttled export progress updates.
- Smoothed Carousel and Narrated Images timeline playback with a wall-clock playback loop.
- Refreshed README screenshots and documentation around the three creation modes.
Validation
- Built Release with
xcodebuild -project Maya.xcodeproj -scheme Maya -configuration Release CODE_SIGNING_ALLOWED=NO build. - Launched the 2.5 Release app locally and captured fresh screenshots for Video, Carousel, and Narrated Images modes.
Maya AI Studio 2.0.2
Maya AI Studio 2.0.2 tidies the shared AI Voiceover panel in Video and Carousel. Preview remains visible, engine/storage status is compact, and refresh, generated voiceover removal, and engine asset deletion now live in the More menu. This release also centralizes Kokoro as the default AI voice engine for new projects.\n\nSHA-256: ac0552bf5926a59af08df5e6de715b2a8f60a8ed85f02c51cd7696b033aaf8df
Maya AI Studio 2.0.1
Maya AI Studio 2.0.1 is a stability and local voice-management release for Maya AI Studio 2.
Highlights:
- Adds AI voice storage reporting in Video and Carousel voiceover panels, including total local voice asset usage and selected-engine usage.
- Adds per-engine voice asset cleanup for installed engine files, downloaded voice models, and cached previews while keeping generated project voiceovers intact.
- Makes Kokoro the default AI voice engine for new Video and Carousel projects.
- Removes Chatterbox and F5-TTS from selectable voice engines because their local preview paths could hang the app; Maya now ships the stable local Piper and Kokoro options.
- Keeps carousel and export performance work from the current mainline build.

Maya AI Studio 2
Maya AI Studio 2 is the cleaned-up AI voiceover and carousel export release. It makes Carousel the default mode, removes the old Carousel Director draft/approval workflow, and focuses the app around imported slides, local OCR, Piper voiceovers, timeline audio, and reliable exports.
Highlights:
- Makes Carousel the default mode and simplifies it around imported images, motion, OCR, voiceover, and export.
- Adds local Piper voiceover generation in Video and Carousel, including automatic setup, automatic English preview warming, custom voice IDs, cached previews, and compact status/error handling.
- Adds one-button carousel slide voiceovers: Maya reads slide text, falls back to local Apple Vision OCR, generates one Piper clip per slide, places each clip on the timeline, and adjusts slide durations to fit narration.
- Adds editable slide narration in the inspector with copyable detected text, editable spoken scripts, Codex-powered cleanup for OCR-damaged text, and regenerate-from-edited-script behavior.
- Rebuilds carousel video export as a generated-frame AVAssetWriter pipeline with Draft/Fast/Standard/High quality presets, real progress phases, cancellation, partial-file cleanup, and stalled-export diagnostics.
- Adds timeline voiceover blocks and left-click action menus for cards, voiceovers, and motion while preserving drag-to-reorder with attached audio moving with its slide.
- Cleans up app chrome and sidebars with a native macOS split-view sidebar, shared Video/Carousel AI Voiceover components, collapsible tinted sections, cleaner spacing, and the Video/Carousel switch in the titlebar.

Maya AI Studio 1.0.9
Maya AI Studio 1.0.9 adds the new Carousel Creative Studio mode for image carousel projects, local-Codex carousel outlining and slide drafting, safe-zone review, motion preview, and export to video, still images, or structured bundles.
Highlights:
- Adds Carousel Creative Studio as a second top-level mode alongside Video.
- Adds carousel import, local image adoption, render, AI planning, and export services.
- Matches carousel header/sidebar behavior to video mode with a single working sidebar toggle.
- Reuses the video editor canvas background and readable timeline chrome in carousel mode.
- Keeps carousel generation local-first: imported images stay on device, and Carousel Director sends only compact slide metadata to the user's local Codex CLI workflow.

Maya AI Studio 1.0.8
Maya AI Studio 1.0.8
This release fixes the animation timeline drag jitter that made zoom blocks feel sticky, jumpy, and hard to place precisely.
Highlights
- Fixes zoom block movement and edge resizing so timeline animation blocks track the pointer smoothly during drag.
- Removes the feedback loop where SwiftUI measured drag translation inside the same block that was being repositioned, which could make the tooltip time move backward during a rightward drag.
- Keeps the existing editing behavior intact: live preview remains continuous, playhead snapping still happens during drag, and quarter-second grid snapping still applies on release.
- Adds a regression guard that fails if animation block drag gestures are moved back into the block's local moving coordinate space.
- Updates the app version to
1.0.8 (21)and the README release section.
Validation
- Confirmed the fix manually in the local app after rebuilding and retesting the timeline drag.
- Passed
swift scripts/check-timeline-drag-regression.swift. - Built Debug successfully with
xcodebuild -project Maya.xcodeproj -scheme Maya -configuration Debug -destination 'platform=macOS' CODE_SIGNING_ALLOWED=NO build. - Built Release successfully with

Maya AI Studio 1.0.7
Maya AI Studio 1.0.7
This release introduces AI Director, a new local-Codex workflow for turning raw screen recordings into polished social-demo edits inside Maya AI Studio.
Highlights
- Adds AI Director with Create video, editable retry controls, plan version history, compare/apply/revert flows, and in-app preview.
- Uses the user's local Codex CLI to generate edit plans from sampled frames and project metadata. A local Codex login/subscription is required for AI generation.
- Keeps AI Director non-destructive in v1: generated plans only update trim ranges and zoom segments. Canvas, device, background, styling, and export settings remain user-controlled.
- Adds first-run local-Codex consent, persistent transparency notes, actionable missing-Codex/login errors, and local heuristic fallback support.
- Makes calm/subtle AI motion genuinely understated with the Barely There zoom profile, softer transitions, and safety clamping for generated plans.
- Renames the installed app/package to Maya AI Studio with bundle identifier
com.dlmapps.MayaAIStudio.
Requirements
- macOS 26.2 or later.
- Codex CLI installed and signed in for AI Director generation.
- A Codex account/subscription for local Codex CLI usage.
Validation
- Built Release with
xcodebuildsuccessfully. - Verified the packaged app reports

Maya Studio 1.0.6
Maya Studio 1.0.6 is a stability release for the timeline zoom editor.
Highlights:
- Fixes jerky/stuttering zoom block dragging by keeping live drags continuous and snapping to the grid only on release.
- Keeps playhead snapping active during live drags.
- Adds a regression guard script for timeline drag snapping behavior so this bug is harder to reintroduce.
- Bumps the app version to 1.0.6 / build 6.
