Release preparation

  • Release 3.3.0, branch release/3.3.0 from merged develop 8e6cda3758dbcd7668c280f66a2f0a7883259aa4, targets main.
  • Only release metadata differs from the validated feature tree: VERSION is plain 3.3.0; CHANGELOG has v3.3.0 dated 2026-10-14 and exactly one empty Unreleased section, as required by UI conventions.
  • Intended source tag and exact GitHub Release title: v3.3.0. No image/package publication or Azure deployment is authorized.

Shipped change

Optional-ingestion upload capability honors DEPLOY_INGESTION_CONTAINER_APP: false disables standalone/Entra Copilot upload controls and rejects attachments before ingestion URL/Dapr resolution. Missing preserves legacy eligibility; true retains existing authentication and conversation checks; malformed values raise configuration errors. Anonymous Copilot uploads remain disabled. Text chat and retrieval are unchanged; no native Foundry IQ conversation upload path.

Validation

  • Feature PR feat: gate uploads when ingestion application is disabled #151: all checks passed, run https://github.com/Azure/agent-app-ui/actions/runs/38639549490.
  • 576 source tests; installed non-editable wheel acceptance; 506 offline Linux-container behavioral tests; five protected quality gates each passed with zero findings; aggregate quality-gate passed.
  • Release PR must independently pass the complete existing CI, including wheel/container/quality, without bypasses, policy changes or reduced scope.
  • Local agentic engineering asset validator passed; release metadata diff check passed.
  • OFFLINE ONLY: no live Azure reads/checks, deployments, cloud builds, or Azure acceptance claims. Workflow audit found no Azure deployment trigger; all original workflow states retained.

Compatibility / docs / rollback

  • Backward-compatible minor feature using the existing App Configuration contract; no new backend wire contract. Missing capability setting preserves legacy behavior.
  • Component README/embedding docs ship with the feature. Central platform docs and manifest pin adoption remain part of the subsequent coordinated platform/docs objective, outside this UI-only change.
  • Before publication close/revert release preparation to roll back. After publication retain immutable history and use a reviewed corrective release; platform consumers can retain/revert to v3.2.2. No deployment is performed here.

Review all 30 exceptions; retain seven unchanged and submit 23 corrected exact-source records as proposals without inherited approval. Full suite: 554 passed. Typing and architecture passed; remaining lint/exception/policy findings require protected review.

Preserve source-bound evidence, expiry, protected evaluator integrity and fail-closed CI. Registry edits alone no longer require protected review; checker adoption still does.

Keep ownership assignments, protected-file enforcement and bootstrap failure unchanged. Describe technical policy differences without soliciting reviewers or administrative approval.

fix: make boundary diagnostics safe and simplify exception validation
Update stale developer-doc statements that claimed the old protected
checker still rejected the new evaluator pending adoption, and that a
reference PR against the adopted develop base remained missing.

PR #144 (merged ec18a73) adopted the new evaluator into the protected
develop base, so the protected checker now applies it to subsequent
PRs. This PR is the reference PR exercising the adopted base and
coordinator-owned required-check controls.

Independent human review of the recorded exception decisions (see
.quality/exception-technical-review.json) remains outstanding, tracked
by issue #695. This PR demonstrates base adoption only, not completed
review.

…ce-proof

docs: reference PR proving adopted UI quality policy on new develop base
…idance

Correct docs/python-development.md to state that recorded exception
decisions are governed by their technical evidence (exact fingerprints,
same-source bound tests, unexpired stage validation) rather than a
separate independent human review step. The prior text incorrectly
stated that independent human review (issue #695) remained outstanding,
which resurrected a bureaucracy requirement explicitly removed by the
repository owner. Integrity/fingerprint/expiry/check-validation
language is preserved unchanged.
