Hangman

  • I used Android Studio create a Hangman Game.
  • There are two game modes: one-phone-game and two-phone-game.
  • I leveraged on Firebase real time database to create a PvP rooming system.

Characters

  • This is not an ordinary Hangman Game.
  • Characters with various abilities can be chosen to help the player to win the multiplayer Hangman Game.
  • Characters with more powerful abilities can be unlocked upon the collection of enough rank points.
  • Rank points are only awarded in two-phone-game.
  • Characters' abilities can only be activated in two-phone-game.

One-Phone-Game

  • A digitalised version of what is usually done on paper and pen.
  • The first player will key in a secret word.
  • The second player will try to figure out the secret word within 7 tries.

Two-Phone-Game

  • Two players must enter the same room name in order to be connected to each other.
  • Each match consists of 2 rounds (each player will have the chance to be the word setter and guesser).
  • The 3 possible results of a match are: VICTORY, DEFEAT and DRAW (rank points will be awarded accordingly).

Reflection

  • As this is my first exposure to software development project, my codes can still be further refactored.
  • There are still minor bugs (that do not interfere with the gameplay) in the code that need to be rectified.
  • Coding standards can be better adhered to.
  • Personally feel the need to learn more about how to implement Firebase API better.
