The panel loader splices the provider selector into the first {} of the metric expression; avg(metric) without braces produced avg(...){provider=...} which is invalid PromQL, so the coverage panel had no data. A benchmark label selector gives the splice a home; verified the spliced query returns 6 for flashbots against the VPS prom. Dev only per the staging hold.
