RogueLikeDungeonGame is a top-down roguelike dungeon crawler built with Python. The game focuses on procedurally generated dungeons, player exploration and combat, enemy AI behavior, loot collection, and classic permadeath mechanics to deliver a challenging and highly replayable experience.
This project implements a complete roguelike gameplay loop where each run is unique. Dungeons are generated randomly, enemies behave dynamically, and the player must survive using strategy and skill. The codebase is modular and structured to allow easy extension of gameplay mechanics.
The project covers:
- Procedural dungeon generation
- Player movement and combat
- Enemy AI logic
- Loot and exploration systems
- Logging and demo modules
-
🌀 Procedural Dungeon Generation
Randomly generated dungeon layouts ensure a different experience every run. -
⚔️ Combat System
Players can engage enemies using core combat mechanics defined in the game logic. -
🤖 Enemy AI
Enemies exhibit basic AI behaviors such as movement, chasing, and attacking the player. -
🎒 Exploration & Loot
Players explore rooms and corridors while collecting items and surviving encounters. -
💀 Permadeath
On death, progress is reset, reinforcing classic roguelike gameplay principles. -
📊 Logging & Demo Support
Logs and demo modules are included for debugging, testing, and showcasing gameplay behavior.
- Python – Core programming language
- Game Modules – Modular architecture for player, enemies, dungeon logic, and utilities
- Logging – Tracking gameplay events and debugging
