Christopher Linnett

Software engineer based in Amed, Bali — working remotely. Lead developer at an AI video-creation startup, with a parallel indie product line and an open-source habit aimed at the Flutter / Dart ecosystem.

Currently

Lead developer (mobile + portal) at an AI video-creation startup. I lead the technical direction on the cross-platform Flutter app and the TypeScript admin/portal stack — AI generation pipelines, workspace and seat management, subscription gating, deep-linked notifications, and CI-driven code-review automation. I also contribute on the Astro marketing site and collaborate on backend direction without owning it. Joined the company before graduating and have grown into the lead role since.

Indie — freediving site discovery and community app, shipping to iOS and Android soon. A full-stack build (Flutter + Serverpod + PostgreSQL on AWS) with its own admin panel, in-app moderation and reporting flows, and the legal/compliance surface a real consumer app needs at launch — privacy policy, terms, in-app account deletion with safeguards, and a documented data-breach response plan. End-to-end product work, solo.

Open source

The packages I maintain are scratch-an-itch fixes — rough edges I kept hitting in day-to-day work, then hardened enough to release. Both are early-stage but treated as products: small atomic PRs, CI, changelog discipline, dartdoc.

  • typed_cached_query — a typed shim over cached_query for Flutter. Puts the query / mutation / infinite-query API behind serializable definitions instead of stringly-keyed lookups, so you get React-Query-style ergonomics without the type-erasure footguns.
  • serverpod_typescript_bridge — generates a fully-typed TypeScript client for a Serverpod project, at parity with serverpod generate for the Dart client. Built because I had a TypeScript portal and a Dart server and didn't want to hand-write the wire layer twice.

What I work with

  • Mobile — Flutter, Dart, Riverpod, Apple Maps / Google Maps, Firebase
  • Backend — Serverpod (Dart), Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Web — TypeScript, React, Astro, SCSS
  • Cloud / infra — AWS (ECS, ElastiCache Redis, Terraform/HCL), Firebase
  • Practice — TDD-style atomic-PR workflow, clean architecture, CI-driven Clean-Code and tech-debt review

Background

Graduated from Griffith University (Gold Coast, Australia) in IT — Software Development, top of the cohort by GPA. Started at my current company as a contributor before graduating and have stayed since, growing into the lead role on the mobile and portal side of the product.
