ModbusScop Master 2.8 - last standalone release
This is the last standalone release of ModbusScop Master. The standalone tools are frozen: new features are developed in SCADAScop, which contains this tool together with all the others (and adds HMI displays, a Watch window, windows on several monitors and the scopctl terminal client). The standalone tool stays available and keeps receiving fixes.
What's new
- One window per RTU, with a tab per poll map, instead of a floating window per map. The RTU window also holds the new Lists tab.
- Value lists - enumerations and bit names. An RTU can hold named lists: an enumeration names values (
0 Open,1 Closed), bit names name the bits of a word (0 RUN,1 ALARM,5 TRIP). Assign one from a cell's right-click menu (Enumeration > / Bit names >; coils take an enumeration for their two states) and the polled cell showsClosed (1)orRUN | TRIPinstead of the number - a value outside the list is shown in the warning colour, the tooltip lists the whole table, the format badge gets an E / B marker. Writing uses the names too: the write command offers an enumeration as a drop-down (with a custom value) and bit names as checkboxes; write maps edit the same way, and the bit editors gain a named-bits section. Lists are edited in the RTU window's Lists tab, listed under the RTU in the channel tree ("Value Lists"), and move between RTUs - and to ModbusScop Slave - with Copy / Paste, Export / Import (.mbvl) or with the RTU itself (Duplicate / Copy / Export RTU carry them). Paste also takes a plainvalue nametable from a manual or a spreadsheet. Workspace:[ValueList]sub-blocks of the[Rtu],Cell<i>.List=. - Write maps keep their own value. A cell of a write map (FC05 / 06 / 15 / 16) now carries the value of its last successful write instead of mirroring the register polled at the same address, so a setpoint no longer shows the measurand read back from the device.
- Tag column in the poll window: a name per point, saved with the workspace. It is what SCADAScop's displays, scripts and Watch window bind to, so a workspace prepared here opens in SCADAScop with its tags in place.
- Duplicating an RTU whose name ends in a number continues the sequence with the same zero padding (
RTU_0001->RTU_0002) after the highest number already used, without the word "copy". [verify] - Fix: the About text printed
%APPDATA%through a printf format (garbled on screen).
Compatibility
- Workspaces of every previous version open unchanged. The new blocks are written only when used, and an older version ignores them.
- Settings stay in
%APPDATA%\CommunicationTools(Linux:~/.config/CommunicationTools), as since the previous release. - A workspace with value lists opened by 2.7 shows the plain numbers.
