Pi 1.3.0 (2026-10-15), with Pi's own packages pinned to its exact version: pi-codemode, pi-mcp, pi-telemetry 1.3.0, and pi-agent-core 1.3.0 as a peer.

Relevant Pi fixes:

  • Tool-call arguments containing an invalid \u escape such as \usepackage no longer lose fields (#10868). This matters for LaTeX-heavy research output.
  • Automatic retry now covers gateway "Unable to forward upstream stream" and "service is temporarily unavailable" errors (#10920, #10965).
  • Pi now pins its internal dependencies exactly (#10865).
  • Anthropic requests no longer fail with a 400 when an error tool result contains images (#10794).
  • Malformed final tool-call JSON now fails validation instead of running with partial arguments (#10897).

Verification status:

  • tsc: pass (local)
  • npm test, check-pi-rpc, audit, consumer install, native bundle, TUI and live /lit: not run locally. The health-check host was CPU-starved (load ~240), so a node loop that normally takes 0.2 s took 2 minutes.
  • Stays a draft until CI passes and a live /lit with researcher subagents passes on Pi 1.3.0.
