Severity: Medium
Vulnerability: The VibeSec scanner lacked explicit mapping to standard vulnerability frameworks (like OWASP Top 10) and relied on manual invocation, meaning vulnerabilities could easily bypass detection and be committed by developers or AI agents (like Claude Code or Codex).
Impact: AI coding agents and human developers might inadvertently commit severe vulnerabilities (e.g. hardcoded secrets, injection flaws) because there was no enforced checkpoint before a commit was created.
Fix:

  1. Updated SCAN_RULES messages in scanner/cli/vibesec.py to append the corresponding OWASP Top 10:2021 classifications (e.g. A01, A03, A07) for better traceability and severity context.
  2. Added a new hook command (cmd_hook) that safely creates a .git/hooks/pre-commit script within the project root. This hook automatically runs vibesec scan . and blocks the commit if any Critical or High vulnerabilities are found.
    Verification:
  3. Ran PYTHONPATH=. pytest tests to verify all test suites still pass.
  4. Verified vibesec hook successfully installs the .git/hooks/pre-commit script and that the script correctly intercepts and blocks Git commits when a vulnerability is present.
