Migrated `ADMIN_PASSWORD` from hardcoded value to an environment variable validated by Zod to prevent secrets leakage in version control. CI pipelines and `.env.example` templates have been updated to include placeholders to ensure pipeline stability. The previous fast-hash check was verified to be safely utilizing `createHmac` + `timingSafeEqual`.

Updated `admin-auth.ts` to hash passwords asynchronously using `crypto.pbkdf2` rather than fast `createHmac`. This resolves the CodeQL alert `js/insecure-password-hashing` while ensuring that the Node.js event loop is not blocked during individual requests, preventing DoS vulnerabilities. `route.ts` was updated to await the new async signature of `verifyAdminCredentials`.

๐ก Vulnerability: The
ADMIN_PASSWORDwas hardcoded directly inpackages/web/src/lib/server/admin-auth.ts, exposing the master admin credential in version control.๐ฏ Impact: If an attacker gains read access to the source code repository, they could trivially compromise the administrative dashboard without any further exploits.
๐ง Fix: Removed the hardcoded secret and migrated it to be injected via environment variables.
env.tswas updated to validate it using Zod (.trim().min(8)), ensuring only secure passwords are provided. The CI workflow was updated with a placeholder value to avoid breaking the build. The password validation relies on existingsafeEqual(fast HMAC +timingSafeEqual) because synchronous hashing mechanisms likepbkdf2Syncblock the event loop leading to DoS vulnerabilities.โ Verification: Code review, tests, and successful build completion (
