🔒 Sentinel: [HIGH] Fix Command Injection via Unsanitized URL

🎯 What: The vulnerability fixed is a Command Injection vulnerability in the openBrowser function within packages/cli/src/lib/auth-flow.ts.

⚠️ Risk: The previous implementation passed the unsanitized authUrl directly to child_process.exec(). If an attacker were to inject shell characters into the URL, they could execute arbitrary shell commands on the user's machine running the CLI. This constitutes a high-severity vulnerability due to potential remote code execution.

🛡️ Solution: The fix replaces the manual construction of OS-specific command strings passed to exec() with the open package (open(url)). This package handles opening URLs using the operating system's default mechanisms securely and safely escapes parameters, effectively mitigating the command injection vulnerability. I also added a catch(() => {}) handler since open() returns a promise to avoid unhandled promise rejections.

Verification:

• cd packages/cli && pnpm lint && pnpm typecheck && pnpm run build && pnpm test completed successfully.
• Addressed CodeQL alert/vulnerability considerations.
• Documented learning in .jules/sentinel.md.
