๐Ÿšจ Severity

CRITICAL

๐Ÿ’ก Vulnerability

The packages/web/src/lib/server/admin-auth.ts file contained hardcoded credentials for the admin dashboard (ADMIN_USERNAME and ADMIN_PASSWORD). This means the credentials were intentionally stored in plaintext directly in the application's source code, effectively compromising the admin interface to anyone with access to the codebase repository.

๐ŸŽฏ Impact

Anyone with read access to the source code could extract the admin credentials and gain unauthorized access to the admin dashboard, allowing them to manage users, reset passwords, and compromise application integrity.

๐Ÿ”ง Fix

  1. Updated packages/web/src/lib/server/env.ts to add ADMIN_USERNAME and ADMIN_PASSWORD validation in EnvSchema utilizing zod.
  2. Replaced the hardcoded strings in packages/web/src/lib/server/admin-auth.ts with env.ADMIN_USERNAME and env.ADMIN_PASSWORD.
  3. Updated packages/web/.env.example with placeholders for the new variables.
  4. Added the required new variables to the build environment inside .github/workflows/ci.yml so CI continues to pass without fail.

โœ… Verification

  1. Run pnpm build -> build successfully completes indicating env.ts validations pass with CI variables.
  2. Verified no hardcoded occurrences of ADMIN_PASSWORD exist in the codebase by running grep -rnw "packages/" -e "og9oRajx7h88v1RIj3eDgdrh9jgLYVV3".

PR created automatically by Jules for task 14021659548524232054 started by @seonghobae

Migrated hardcoded admin username and password from `admin-auth.ts` to environment variables validated via `env.ts` with Zod. Updated `.env.example` and CI workflow to include the new required environment variables.

Comment @coderabbitai help to get the list of available commands and usage tips.

- Migrated hardcoded admin credentials to environment variables (`env.ts`).
- Replaced insecure HMAC equality checking with secure, asynchronous PBKDF2 hashing in `verifyAdminCredentials`.
- Pre-computed target password hashes via `pbkdf2Sync` on module init to avoid timing attacks on password length.
- Refactored `api/admin/login/route.ts` to `await` the asynchronous verification.
- Updated `.env.example` and CI workflow.
