…markets

A multi-vendor marketplace engine built on MedusaJS 2.18 and Mercur 2.3, for
markets where roughly 95% of orders are cash on delivery.

Stock ecommerce software models one money flow: authorize, capture, pay the
seller. Cash on delivery breaks that at every step. There is no authorization to
capture; the money arrives days later from a courier rather than the buyer, in a
batch covering many orders, sometimes short; and between a fifth and two fifths
of parcels come back undelivered with the seller paying freight both ways. So the
money path here hangs off courier remittance rather than the payment lifecycle,
which is the decision that explains most of the architecture.

What this adds on top of Mercur:

- A double-entry settlement ledger where a seller becomes payable only once a
courier has actually remitted. Refuses to write unless debits equal credits,
idempotent on business-fact keys because courier files and webhooks are
re-delivered, and it routes short payments, unknown airway bills and
duplicates to an explicit exception queue instead of absorbing them. Placement
posts nothing, a mismatched remittance is a dispute rather than an adjustment,
and collected-but-unremitted cash is not payable.

- An order confirmation gate that holds a parcel until the buyer confirms,
attacking return-to-origin. Risk-scored so most orders are never delayed. The
load-bearing decision is that silence is not refusal except in the high-risk
band: most buyers ignore messages, so cancelling every quiet buyer destroys
more good orders than the returns it prevents. Fails OPEN, because a jammed
gate costs a seller every order they have.

- An encrypted digital code vault and fraud gate. AES-256-GCM under a key
separate from the session secret, allocation as a single atomic FOR UPDATE
SKIP LOCKED claim so no code reaches two buyers, and a gate that fails CLOSED
because a released code cannot be recalled.

- A payout rail for markets Stripe Connect does not serve.

229 assertions across seven suites, each proven able to fail by deliberately
breaking the code it covers. A green test that cannot go red manufactures
confidence rather than providing it, and several real bugs here were found
exactly that way.

Documentation is written for three audiences. Humans get the README, a quick
start and an architecture doc. AI coding agents get AGENTS.md, which lists nine
traps that have already cost real time, plus llms.txt, llms-full.txt and a
machine-readable capabilities.json. Search engines get a Jekyll docs site with
schema.org SoftwareSourceCode structured data, a generated sitemap and robots.txt.

docs/known-issues.md lists every defect we know about, including two that are
open. Publishing that list is deliberate: it is better than having someone find
them.

Prepared for release by removing 27MB of unused stock imagery and four dead
starter components carried over from the upstream template, refreshing the
environment templates which still referenced the template's branding and ports,
and marking the seeded commission rates as illustrative rather than prescriptive.

OK, I won't notify you again about this release, but will get in touch when a new version is available. If you'd rather skip all updates until the next major or minor version, let me know by commenting @dependabot ignore this major version or @dependabot ignore this minor version. You can also ignore all major, minor, or patch releases for a dependency by adding an ignore condition with the desired update_types to your config file.

If you change your mind, just re-open this PR and I'll resolve any conflicts on it.
