Summary

Replaces closed PRs #107 and #108 with the same full-resolution OpenWipe work plus the completed CodeRabbit follow-up.

Core changes

  • Preserve original image dimensions by default; --max-dim remains an explicit downscaling option.
  • Save JPEG at quality 100 / 4:4:4, PNG losslessly, and keep format bytes consistent with extensions.
  • Add full-resolution tiled LaMa processing with normalized overlap blending.
  • Add the local FastAPI/Tauri editor and portable Windows packaging.

CodeRabbit follow-up

  • Restrict CORS to local/Tauri origins.
  • Pass PIL images correctly to Florence detection.
  • Move model loading and inference off the FastAPI event loop and guard lazy initialization.
  • Pin, checksum-verify, timeout, and atomically publish the YuNet model download.
  • Handle light and dark watermark strokes without silently dropping dark masks.
  • Make face protection opt-in.
  • Correct Tauri v2 window/resources/startup handling and poll /api/health without an external curl dependency.
  • Fix frontend blob URL lifetime, filename XSS, HTTP error reporting, and batch output re-encoding.
  • Include portable.flag in the portable build and tighten release workflow permissions.
  • Qualify README quality/resolution claims.

Regression fixes added after review

  • Preserve the original image-load onload behavior while revoking object URLs.
  • Keep tiled output consistently BGR and normalize overlapping tile weights.
  • Fail rather than silently writing PNG bytes under JPEG/WEBP extensions when browser encoding is unavailable.
  • Add CI coverage for Python compilation, frontend JavaScript syntax, tiled color-space behavior, and light/dark stroke extraction.

Validation

The branch includes regression tests under tests/test_openwipe_quality.py and extends CI to compile the new backend/quality modules and run node --check on the OpenWipe frontend.

Supersedes #107 and #108.

Closing this replacement because GitHub cannot generate the cross-repository diff (diff not_available / 0 changed files). The source branch is intact and based on upstream main, but Dudeman456/openwipe is no longer recognized as part of this repository's fork network. No maintainer action is requested on this empty PR.
