kepler_compute: stand in for Mario Kart World's docked photo mode ups… - #676

Summary
In Mario Kart World 1.8.0, photo mode in docked mode shows a black screen with only the UI buttons. Handheld mode works.
Docked, the photo mode renders at 2560x1440 and upscales to 3840x2160 with a network of tensor-core passes. Those passes are rejected (native matrix multiply), so the 4K image is never written and only the UI drawn over it shows. Handheld does not use the network. The rejected pass's constant buffer holds 2559, 1439, 3839 and 2159, the input and output sizes, and the grid is 80x45 groups, which is 48x48 output tiles at 4K.
UpscaleInsteadOfNativeProgram already replaces rejected tensor passes with a blit, but it only reads a few fixed constant buffer slots. For this game it found no pair there and fell through to its generic scan, which blitted unrelated small textures (4x4 to 32x32).
When the existing fallback does not handle a rejected pass:
The next 64 dispatches are searched, in every constant buffer, for a block-linear colour image and one 1.5 times its size.
The pass that has both has its result replaced by a bilinear blit of the first to the second.
The pass and the places of the two handles are remembered, so later frames read only those two handles.
The search stops after a few evaluations without a match.
The generic scan ignores outputs under 1024 texels wide, which are look-up tables and not upscale targets.
The fallback runs first, so a title it already handles (for example title 4's sRGB-decoding blit) is unchanged. Titles that never hit the tensor rejection do not run any of the new code. EDEN_NX2_PHOTO_UPSCALE=0 in nx2_switches.txt turns the stand-in off.
It stands in for the network with a bilinear upscale, like the other fallbacks here; it does not emulate the network.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added automatic photo upscaling for compatible image pairs during compute processing, including when native matrix-multiply processing cannot complete. Matching is limited to larger block-linear color images with 1.5× dimensions. After a compatible pass is identified, subsequent searches focus on the matching program and image locations.
…cale
Docked, the photo mode renders at 2560x1440 and upscales to 3840x2160 with a
network of tensor-core passes. Those passes are rejected (native matrix
multiply), so the 4K image stayed empty and only the UI drawn over it showed.
The existing fallback only looks at a few fixed constant buffer slots of the
rejected pass. For this game it found no pair there and fell through to its
generic scan, which blitted unrelated small textures. When it does not handle
a rejected pass, the next 64 dispatches are now searched, in every constant
buffer, for a block-linear colour image and one 1.5 times its size; the pass
that has both has its result replaced by a bilinear blit of the first to the
second. The pass and the offsets are remembered, so later frames read only
those two handles, and the search stops after a few evaluations without a
match. The generic scan also ignores outputs under 1024 texels wide, which
are look-up tables and not upscale targets.
EDEN_NX2_PHOTO_UPSCALE=0 in nx2_switches.txt turns the stand-in off.

KeplerCompute adds a photo-upscale fallback that searches constant buffers for qualifying image pairs and attempts bilinear blits. Dispatch handling starts or continues a limited search window, and generic image-pair selection now requires a minimum output width.

Summary
Photo-upscale state and image inputs src/video_core/engines/kepler_compute.h, src/video_core/engines/kepler_compute.cpp
Adds tracking state and helpers to read constant-buffer data, check feature enablement, and convert supported image entries.
Search window and image-pair blits src/video_core/engines/kepler_compute.cpp
Searches for distinct block-linear 2D color images at least 1280 pixels wide. It attempts a bilinear blit for pairs with 1.5× width and height, and records matching program and buffer offsets after a successful broad search.
Matrix-multiply failures try the existing fallback before the photo-upscale search. Successful dispatches can also try the search while its window remains active. Generic image-pair selection now requires output width of at least 1024 pixels.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 55124
An unrelated image pair could be selected, leaving docked photo mode incorrect. This is a bounded risk to address or explicitly accept before merging.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to 55124
The change broadens when guest-provided image descriptions can trigger replacement writes. The main identified risk is unintended modification of other images within the running guest, particularly when learned state outlives its intended dispatch window. No host-memory escape or privilege escalation was established.
Retained concerns
Low · reliability · inferred: The inferred replacement is not confined to the rejected dispatch's declared resources or a strict 64-dispatch interval. The broad scan includes disabled constant-buffer slots, later successful dispatches can trigger replacement writes, and nonmatching learned programs do not consume the watch budget. A false match can therefore modify another guest image beyond the initiating evaluation. This is a guest-local failure-containment concern, not an established host or cross-tenant boundary violation.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The newly reachable outcome is accelerated modification of images selected through the current guest's descriptors, including after a successful dispatch. The inspected path does not establish host-memory access, privilege gain or cross-tenant exposure. Whether learned state can survive relevant guest-context changes remains unresolved.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — Guest image descriptions remain mediated by texture-cache lookup, insertion and image preparation before backend blitting. Address resolution can use guest backing or synthetic addresses for unbacked images, so a successful accelerated copy is not proof of mapped backing or of ownership by the rejected dispatch.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The normal Fermi2D copy path flushes memory-manager caching before accelerated copying. Both the previous Kepler fallback and the new path call the copy interface directly. This sequence difference predates the PR; inspection did not establish a newly introduced synchronization failure.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Confine inference to enabled bindings and an explicit evaluation lifetime. Consume the dispatch budget consistently, represent exhausted search as a terminal state, and invalidate learned program and offset identity when its owning context or program generation changes.

Reduce false matches in the photo-upscale scan.
An unrelated 1280×720 to 1920×1080 pair can match before the photo-mode pair. If its blit succeeds and both handles share a constant-buffer slot, the scan overwrites the unrelated output and caches that program. Later windows can then skip the actual photo pass.
The docked photo output is 3840 pixels wide. A 3840 minimum excludes the smaller pair while retaining that output. It reduces false matches but does not identify the pass uniquely.

Wanted to do a baseline check with the current nx2-experimental but docked photo mode already works. Will now try to see if this is being affected by GPU Async emulation and if your PR fixes the issue with that turned off.
