Summary

@agentv/sdk is now the primary public TypeScript authoring package, and @agentv/eval is reduced to a deprecated compatibility bridge for already-published consumers.

This also stops teaching the abandoned Normalized* / agentv.trajectory.v1 vocabulary through the touched SDK boundary: new scaffolds, docs, examples, and public SDK exports now converge on plain Trace* naming.

Evidence

Red on origin/main:

  • apps/cli/src/commands/create/commands.ts scaffolds import { defineAssertion } from '@agentv/eval';
  • packages/eval/src/index.ts still exports Normalized* trace schemas/types

Green on this branch:

  • agentv create assertion smoke scaffolds import { defineAssertion } from '@agentv/sdk';
  • Focused grep across packages/sdk, packages/eval, docs/examples/skills, and touched CLI scaffold files returns no public Normalized* / agentv.trajectory.v1 matches

Notes

  • @agentv/core remains the runner/engine/artifact owner; this branch only rehomes the lightweight authoring/grader/helper surface
  • @agentv/eval stays publishable as a thin shim because it already shipped, but it now re-exports @agentv/sdk instead of bundling its own primary surface
  • The broader local trace-cleanup branch remains feat/prepare-trace-docs at 85882bc7; this branch incorporates the naming cleanup in the SDK boundary it touches and notes the remaining dependency in Beads

Testing

  • bun install
  • bun --filter @agentv/sdk build
  • bun --filter @agentv/eval build
  • bun --filter @agentv/sdk test
  • bun --filter @agentv/eval test
  • bun run build
  • bun run typecheck
  • bun run lint
  • Dogfood: bun --no-env-file apps/cli/src/cli.ts create assertion smoke in a temp dir; generated scaffold imports @agentv/sdk

Post-Deploy Monitoring & Validation

No additional operational monitoring required. This changes package boundaries, scaffolds, docs/examples, and a deprecated compatibility shim; validation is build/test/scaffold based rather than runtime monitoring based.

CI unblock pushed in 41094906.

Root cause: @agentv/eval is a compatibility shim that imports @agentv/sdk, but a fresh CI checkout had no packages/sdk/dist yet. Because @agentv/sdk publishes dist-based exports, @agentv/eval typecheck/test could not resolve the SDK package until a local build had happened.

Fix: packages/eval now builds @agentv/sdk before its own typecheck and test scripts while preserving the published shim import from @agentv/sdk.

Verification:

  • bun install --frozen-lockfile
  • no-packages/sdk/dist reproduction: bun --filter @agentv/eval typecheck and bun --filter @agentv/eval test
  • bun run typecheck
  • bun run lint
  • bun run test
  • bun --filter @agentv/eval build
