Fairy Oracle Sanctuary (天机阁) Charter

中文 | 日本語 | 한국어 | Français | Español | Português | Deutsch | हिन्दी

I. Who Are We?

Fairy Oracle Sanctuary is a developer collective with the spirit of free software at its core and open-source collaboration as its method.

We are not affiliated with any commercial corporation, political faction, or ideological camp. We belong only to ourselves and to what we collectively believe in.

II. What Do We Believe In?

  1. Code Should Be Free We prefer Copyleft licenses such as GPL or AGPL to ensure that software grants freedom to users rather than depriving them of it.

  2. People Should Be Respected Whether a contributor is a novice or a veteran, from any country, speaking any language, of any skin color, or with any educational background—before the code, we only recognize the code itself.

  3. Goodwill Is Real We are willing to share what we create with you without prerequisites or expectations of anything in return.

  4. We Hate Hate We reject all hate speech based on age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

III. What Do We Do?

  1. Build Open Source / Free Software Projects: Produce code that runs, solves problems, and helps others.
  2. Support Each Other: Members may criticize code but not attack people; debate technology but not escalate to personal stances; rest when tired without being mocked by those still running.
  3. Connect Outward: Collaborate with other open-source teams and developers from other countries.

IV. What Can We Give You?

  1. A place where different people can walk together towards the same goal.
  2. A place where you don't have to take sides.
  3. A place where you can change the world.

V. What Is Our Way of Collaboration?

  1. Technical Issues: Decisions are led by those with the most technical ability or who have invested the most in that area, but must be discussed publicly.
  2. Directional Issues: Decided by core team members through consultation. Anyone can object, but must propose an alternative solution at the same time.
  3. How to Join: In principle, there is no "application channel." New members are introduced by existing members and decided by team consensus after a period of collaboration.
  4. How to Exit: Rest when tired, come back when ready. If you decide to exit permanently, just hand over the parts you maintain. No clinging, no blame.
  5. Handling Disagreements: Open an issue for discussion. If consensus cannot be reached, fork the branch and try separately; let results speak.
  6. Handling Ideological Differences: Return to core values. If still irreconcilable, a friendly parting is fine. The world is large; you don't have to be tied to one tree.

VI. What Are Our Roles?

Sanctuary Master None. Not now, not ever. Power should not be occupied long-term; direction should be driven by consensus.

Acting Master (baby2016) Responsible for final decisions, external representation, setting direction, and ensuring the team does not deviate from our shared values. The Acting Master can be removed or voluntarily step down.

Elders

  • Members who have invested time, gained trust, and taken on core responsibilities.
  • Participate in major team decisions (e.g., accepting large contributions, changing license policies).
  • Have decision-making power over technical direction in their area of expertise.
  • Have the right to object if the Acting Master makes a mistake; if a major error occurs, all Elders can collectively remove the Acting Master.

Guest Scholars Friends who contribute occasionally or are not involved long-term. They are a precious connection to us.

VII. What Is Our Bottom Line?

Strictly Prohibited:

  • Closing the source or claiming ownership of team code or its derivatives in violation of the original license.
  • Using the name "Fairy Oracle Sanctuary" for illegal activities or commercial fraud.
  • Engaging in hate speech in any team communication channel (re-emphasized).

VIII. What Are We Pursuing?

Fairy Oracle Sanctuary does not pursue scale, financing, or being known by many. What we pursue is:

  • Writing software or projects that we are satisfied with and that are truly free.
  • Proving that people can create things of value for others based on shared beliefs and goodwill.
  • Connect The World—connecting the world, connecting everyone who believes in freedom and kindness.

IX. What Is Our Future?

As the author of this text, to be honest—I don't know either. But I hope that one day, our members can step out of the network, meet like-minded people around the world, write code, and then laugh.
