🌍 Introduction

Plastecure is an IoT-based smart plastic waste management system that enables efficient recycling by integrating ESP32, Firebase/Supabase, and a modern web interface. Users can scan and deposit plastic waste, track their contributions, and redeem incentives via an interactive dashboard.

🔧 Setup & Installation

1️⃣ Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/Falguni35/plastecure.git
cd plastecure

2️⃣ Install Dependencies

For the Web App:

npm install  # Install required frontend dependencies

For Firebase Integration (Optional)

  • Set up a Firebase project at Firebase Console
  • Copy your Firebase configuration details into firebase-config.js

3️⃣ Run the Web App Locally

npm start  # Starts local development server

4️⃣ Flash the ESP32 Code

  • Open the Arduino IDE
  • Install required libraries (WiFi.h, HTTPClient.h, FirebaseESP32.h)
  • Flash esp32-code.ino onto your ESP32
  • Ensure Wi-Fi credentials are set correctly

🖥️ Usage

1️⃣ Web Dashboard

  • Open the Plastecure Web App
  • Log in using your unique User ID
  • Track your recycling progress & redeem points

2️⃣ IoT Device (ESP32)

  • Scan plastic bottles using the Smart Scanner
  • The system updates the cloud database in real-time
  • Monitor the stats via the dashboard
