BUG: Schedule tool does not properly recognize new default thumbnail for variant when a series default thumbnail is not made first

Steps to reproduce:
- Go to the details page of the Schedule tool
- Delete the folder for the series thumbnails
- Create a new thumbnail for the variant
- Schedule tool doesn't properly see the new thumbnail
