Overview

pycheckjpeg can validate a JP4/JPEG file either from a buffer or from a path. Error and warning messages are returned if anything suspicious is detected. pycheckjpeg can be used as a standalone command-line tool and as a python library.

Development

The latest stable release of pycheckjpeg is version 1.0.1. The development version is the latest available commit of the master branch.

Dependencies

pycheckjpeg has been tested on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and comes with the following package dependencies:

• python-dev
• libjpeg-dev

Installation

Open a terminal and type the following commands:

python setup.py build
sudo python setup.py install
