Remove chat-specific descendant selection styles implicated in WebKitGTK pseudo-style work and use the application selection colors. Scope excerpt, annotation, and search highlights to intersecting text parents while preserving shared ownership across rows and panes. Resolve annotation tints and indirect search/selection color mixes when applying themes, including chrome scopes. Preserve legacy theme settings, alpha, and forced-color behavior without new stored fields. Validation: 42 focused tests and check:web passed, including full color governance. Audit baselines are unchanged. Linux/WebKitGTK performance, UI interaction, and remote scenarios remain unverified. Refs: GCWing#3178
