Summary

  • use the formal release keystore when all release signing variables are configured
  • fall back to the local Android debug keystore for release builds
  • keep unsigned release output behind the explicit allowUnsignedRelease property
  • document the signing behavior in the Android guide

Verification

  • JAVA_HOME='/Applications/Android Studio.app/Contents/jbr/Contents/Home' ANDROID_SDK_ROOT="$HOME/Library/Android/sdk" ./gradlew :app:assembleRelease
  • apksigner verify --verbose app/build/outputs/apk/release/app-release.apk

The verified APK was uploaded manually to the v1.0.2 release as OpenBitFun-1.0.0-beta.apk.
