After six months of intense work, I’ve completely rewritten the game engine (I’d say around 70% of the code is new) and redrawn every single graphic and animation by hand, pixel by pixel, replacing the old placeholders. I’m finally able to share this new technical demo with you, featuring almost ten minutes of scenes that showcase a bit of everything the game will offer: cutscenes, interactive dialogues, scene interaction, spell and counterspell combat, day and night transitions, and more.

I’m truly excited for you to finally see the results of this work. Over these past months, I’ve been deep in the code and couldn’t really show much progress. During that time, I had to teach myself pixel art and animation from scratch — so while there’s still a lot to be done, I hope you’ll appreciate how far the project has come.

From now on, with a much more robust codebase and a clearer visual direction, I hope to move faster: creating new characters and enemies, and designing the final spell patterns, with the goal of finishing Act 1 within the next year.

I encourage you to watch the videos from late 2024 to get a sense of how much the game has changed since then.

I’m still looking for collaborators, especially graphic artists, as long as they feel comfortable working on a project that was born with the intention of being free and open.
