π¨ Severity: CRITICAL
π‘ Vulnerability: The image upload API (
/api/upload) was returning detailed error messages directly to the client, including the status of environment variables (CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME,CLOUDINARY_API_KEY,CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET) and raw, unhandled Cloudinary error objects.π― Impact: Exposing internal system errors and configuration statuses provides attackers with valuable reconnaissance information.
π§ Fix: Caught exceptions and replaced the detailed external responses with generic error strings while logging full internal details for server-side debugging only.
β Verification: Verified by compiling code (
pnpm run buildcompleted for the specific file) and confirming via code review that the fix prevents further internal leakage without modifying core functionality.PR created automatically by Jules for task 2281771280109472440 started by @GerryK97
