Open pilot: test ScopeGuard for scope drift and commercial risk #9

Description

@hlinor-systems

We are inviting early pilot testers

ScopeGuard is an open-source, local-first review tool for finance, sales and delivery teams. It compares an agreed project scope with later client communications.

The pilot separates two types of signals:

  • Scope drift — a new deliverable, change or request that may be outside the agreed work.
  • Commercial risk — cancellation, payment risk, product availability or customer delay.

The goal is simple: help teams spot margin and delivery risk before work continues.

What we are looking for

We would like feedback from people who handle:

  • customer orders and cancellations;
  • project scope and change requests;
  • payment or availability issues;
  • finance, sales operations or delivery reviews.

How to try it

  1. Use a scope document as the baseline.
  2. Add a redacted communication export (.eml, .txt, .md or .json).
  3. Run the analysis.
  4. Review the Scope drift and Commercial risks queues.
  5. Tell us what was useful, wrong or missing.

The hosted pilot is currently private and access is arranged manually. The local-first version is available in this repository.

What feedback would help most

Please comment with:

  • your role and type of workflow;
  • whether the result was understandable;
  • false positives or missed risks;
  • which source you would want first: Gmail, Slack or WhatsApp;
  • what would make the result useful in a real finance or sales process.

Please use synthetic or redacted examples. Do not post confidential customer data, email addresses, phone numbers or payment details in this issue.

This is an early pilot, not a financial or legal decision system. Human review remains required.
